COPTRZ has always been committed to drone training. As an industry leader, we place a huge importance on education programmes as part of our offering which extends well beyond the point of sale. By training commercial, public and private organisations – as well as individuals – in how to operate drones, we are helping them to get the most from their UAVs, and enjoy a return on their investment.

As of this month, we are very proud to say that we can now offer an OFQUAL Level 4 Award to anyone who has completed a COPTRZ CAA drone training course.ย That means a vocational qualification recognised across the board by employers in many sectors, representing a standard between an A-level and a degree (ONC/HNC level).

    Raising the bar

For participants of the COPTRZย PfCO courseย which equips them with Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) accreditation, this means the opportunity to enjoy better earning potential. This is thanks to the achievement of a recognised and regulated qualification under OFQUAL.

    Setting your sights higher

For those looking to attain Level 5 and Level 6 Commercial Drone Operations certificates which are typically required for Chief Pilot and Head of Operations roles, the new qualification will enable exclusions from some of the foundation modules which are usually needed for these courses. That can save time, and in many cases, the investment needed to complete the course. In essence, the OFQUAL Level 4 award can provide a fast track to advanced proficiency in Commercial Drone Operations.

    Internationally recognised

We expect the new course to have a global impact, as we are not restricting it to participants based in the UK. Many countries do not currently offer their own PfCO in the same way that the CAA in the UK do. That means there is a huge market for the type of formal drone qualification which we can now offer with this OFQUAL Level 4 Award.

We think that the knock-on effect could be an even bigger expansion in commercial drone operations worldwide. Access to the right kind of training and qualifications opens up to more organisations. That means more market potential for drone operations internationally. Also, the chance for drone use to grow further in sectors from agriculture to construction and emergency services.
